Join the Southborough and High Brooms Amateur Archaeology Society (SHAAS) to learn about archaeology and see how it is done in practice. Have a go at digging a test pit to see what artefacts you can unearth and then learn how to use a metal detector.
A great family event and voyage of discovery as finds are sifted and sorted through to add to our knowledge of how the Common was used in the past. Who knows what buried treasure is on the Common? There will also be a selection of local finds displayed on a table for people to have a look at.
There is a morning or afternoon session and please book via the link below as places are limited.
Meet up in St Peter’s church car park (TN4 0RU) before each event and someone will to guide you to the site or simply follow the directions at the top part of the Common.
